Business Development Manager
The Opportunity:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Consulting Business Development Manager based in Chile. This role is responsible for driving the growth of Power Consulting's business across Chile and the South America region (excluding Brazil). The individual will work closely with the global Power Consulting organization to identify and capture opportunities for value-added, technology-agnostic consulting services across utilities, renewable developers, industrials, and infrastructure players.
Chile is a recognized leader in renewable energy development and grid modernization in South America. This position will play a critical role in expanding Power Consulting's footprint in this high-growth market and addressing current white spots in customer engagement.
Our ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, possess strong interpersonal and consultative selling skills, and demonstrate a collaborative approach to internal and external stakeholder engagement. We seek someone with the drive to build customer relationships, the agility to navigate regional markets, and the discipline to execute within a dynamic energy environment.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Defines and executes key sales and business development activities for Chile and South America region (excluding Brazil), establishing targets for volume, margin, and portfolio mix.
- Leads customer engagement across utilities, developers, industries, and infrastructure operators to expand Power Consulting's services footprint.
- Supports strong collaboration with other Hitachi group companies operating in Chile to drive joint customer value and solution development.
- Identifies early-stage project opportunities and helps develop tailored proposal strategies.
- Conducts market and competitive analysis; proactively shapes consulting offerings to meet regional market needs.
- Develops strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and long-term collaboration.
- Supports contract risk mitigation and commercial negotiations.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field, with 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting within the energy sector.
- Proven track record of building customer relationships and driving business growth in Chile and South America
- Knowledge of power systems, renewable energy integration, grid modernization, energy storage, and power electronics.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across cultural and organizational boundaries.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel across Chile and South America as required (up to 50%).
