The opportunity:
BIM Coordinator is an integral part of the design team who leads and coordinates the process of generating digital models and integrated data often referred as 'Information' about a project, from the design stage to the construction stage. The BIM Coordinator is often regarded as a chief figure in a project team and has responsibility for the BIM workflow and ensuring that any potential issues during modelling, clash detection and data conversion are dealt with efficiently. In general, the BIM Coordinator is the go-to person for setting up project specific guidelines and is responsible for linking information across disciplines. The BIM Coordinator and the Lead Engineer need to work side by side in the project. While the focus of the BIM-Coordinator is to keep the federated model up to date and highlight clashed and issues between the disciplines, the Lead Engineer should keep track of the negative impacts on the project timeline and related costs which might happen due to highlighted issues. It's also the responsibility of the Lead Engineer to adjust priorities on the highlighted issues to avoid as many negative influences on the timeline as possible.
