Senior Technical Product Manager, Data Compliance and Governance

In This Role You Will:

  • Work in collaboration with Product, Data, Engineering, leadership teams to craft and evolve how Tinder data teams’ govern data, enforce policies, and audit and report on compliance
  • Review and evolve Tinder’s data access, retention, privacy and compliance policies and associated enforcement mechanisms
  • Continuously optimize and manage delivery activities and processes by ensuring effective prioritization / trade-offs against an overall business strategy and organizational constraints
  • Maintain urgency by ensuring there is collaboration within multiple parts of the organization who may have competing priorities.
  • Quickly drive conversations toward productive solutions by including the right partners, weighing pros/cons, business needs, and timelines for masterful execution and delivery.
  • Ensure that the requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Collaborate with Legal to address regulatory compliance around data and limit organization's exposure to a data breach
  • Collaborates with teams to establish consistency in developing recommendations around policies, standards and framework for data retention policies and governance
  • Responsible for the Data Governance in prioritizing, driving and measuring progress and auditing data governance activities

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 3+ years of compliance experience
  • Previous experience and understanding of the global regulatory landscape, working on large-scale compliance, privacy, and data protection initiatives.
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment where communication with multiple functions (Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science) is imperative
  • The ability to write simple queries and understand complicated data structures - SQL, ETLs, and databases.
  • Previous experience working autonomously with multiple teams across product, product design, data, backend, iOS, Android and Web platforms
  • You let data win arguments, with an ability to understand data flow end-to-end, ensuring data in all underlying data sets is compliant
  • Track record of delivery in constantly evolving, highly collaborative, cross functional-stakeholder environments with a strong ability to influence multiple partners without direct authority.
  • Uncanny ability to structure problem-solving approaches and to bring multiple solutions to solving sophisticated problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to advocate and present to non-technical audiences, including leadership, in an easily digestible manner
