Plenty of Fish is one of the world's leading online dating platforms with millions of daily active members, and we are looking for a Platform Data Engineer who would have ownership over the operation and maintenance of the platform data systems. We are currently on a journey of moving our stack to the cloud, and this person will be driving this move.

So, what will you do?
- Build and maintain the distributed data platform that powers the Plenty of Fish products and analytics
- Have a deep understanding of Kafka consumer groups and kafka producer APIs
- Bring a deep understanding of creating/configuring stream application topics
- Automating pipelines to manage topics, schema and cluster settings to handle billions of daily data events and ensure data integrity.
- Topic maintenance and strategy; collaborate with our Ops team to automate topic creation
- Ensure the application platform is healthy and performant
- Be an integral step in support escalation process by providing tier 3 support and collaborate with Ops on the playbook for maintaining data infrastructure
- Liaise with support vendors (e.g. Confluent) for project insight and troubleshooting help
- Improve the quality of our data tools and large scale data infrastructure
- Be an integral part of the team's on-call rotations
- Cross functionally work with other engineering and product teams to understand business needs and develop requirements
- Other roadmap items: Building new clusters, spark jobs, grafana, dev tools, automation, topics/schema registry, reporting and monitoring tools

You'll be a match for this role if you have..
- In depth working knowledge managing kafka stability and performance
- Experienced in automating pipelines to manage topics, schema and cluster settings
- 3+ years of hands on experience with C#
Nice to have
- Has worked with AWS or Azure cloud stack
- Experience in writing infrastructure as code
