What's the role?

We are seeking a technically driven Professional Services Engineer to join our China-based automotive team. This role focuses on the engineering and integration of HERE’s advanced location services into modern automotive platforms, particularly in the areas of Navigation On Autopilot (NOA) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). You will work hands-on with OEMs and Tier 1s to deliver high-performance, production-grade solutions that enable safer and smarter driving experiences.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and implementing software solutions that integrate HERE’s HD maps, APIs, and SDKs into NOA and ADAS platforms.
  • Developing and optimizing modules for localization, path planning, and real-time navigation using C++, Python, and embedded systems.
  • Designing and implementing sensor fusion algorithms combining LiDAR, radar, camera, and GNSS data for enhanced perception and positioning.
  • Building and maintaining simulation environments to validate ADAS/NOA functionalities using synthetic and real-world datasets.
  • Integrating HERE’s services into automotive ECUs and middleware stacks, ensuring compatibility with AUTOSAR, ROS, and other industry standards.
  • Profiling and optimizing software for performance, latency, and resource efficiency on automotive-grade hardware platforms.
  • Conducting rigorous testing and validation under real-world driving conditions to ensure robustness and reliability.
  • Working with large-scale geospatial datasets to support map matching, semantic understanding, and predictive routing.
  • Collaborating with internal data teams to refine map content and improve localization accuracy for Chinese road networks.
  • Serving as a technical expert in customer engagements, supporting OEM and Tier 1 engineering teams during development and integration phases.
  • Providing detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and integration guides.
  • Collaborating with HERE’s global product and R&D teams to influence roadmap and feature development based on customer feedback and market needs.

Who are you?

You are a strong match for this role if you possess the following qualifications,skills,experience and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Robotics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in automotive software development, with a focus on ADAS, NOA, or autonomous driving systems.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and experience with embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with sensor technologies (LiDAR, radar, camera), ROS, and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes in automotive environments.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with Chinese automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Knowledge of HD map formats, localization algorithms, and vehicle dynamics.
  • Understanding of regulatory and safety standards for L2+/L3 autonomous systems in China.
