Developer Advocate

What's the role?

HERE Technologies is seeking a passionate and creative Developer Advocate to empower our growing developer community with the resources and inspiration to build amazing things.

Summary of the role:

• You will connect with developers across all verticals to promote, develop insights and provide timely feedback on their behalf internally with Product, Engineering and Marketing.
• You will also act as a technology ambassador connecting data and products to real-world problems and storylines.
• Your work will drive a developer-first approach in how we talk about the HERE platform and will demonstrate our commitment to actively listening to our developer community.
• You will play a major role in advancing our community ambitions and amplifying the customer voice.

Help us fulfill our mission of raising awareness and adoption through content creation, education and interacting with developers. Share your knowledge and experience to inspire and unlock contributions within the developer ecosystem to foster a self-sustaining community of developers outside the company. Your role will have a strong emphasis on external developer interaction, storytelling, being the subject matter expert, building relationships, and influencing the product roadmap.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive awareness and adoption HERE APIs and SDKs among developers across the world.
• Champion the needs of the HERE global developer community, engage with them, collect feedback and advocate for them within the company to improve the developer experience.
• Work with strategic partners and customers to excite and engage our developer community.
• Create compelling content for developers across a variety of different media and channels, including blog posts, tutorials, video and more. The focus will be on creating compelling map data visualizations and demos of the HERE APIs and SDKs in action.
• Create product and data driven storytelling assets to provide insights to journalists.
• Work closely with our Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to help developers succeed on the world's #1 location platform.
• Evangelize HERE’s capabilities and act as an ambassador for HERE online and in-person –at conferences and hackathons, webinars as well as social media.

Who are you?

• 3+ years of experience as a developer advocate, technical evangelist, or in a similar role with a proven record of attracting developers to technology platforms.
• Ability to create and deliver outstanding technical content, such as blog posts, tutorials, sample code, interactive demos, videos, and webinars.
• Excellent people skills with a strong sense of empathy, the innate ability to listen and to understand the needs and problems of developers.
• Strong technical skills across a broad technology stack with geospatial technology a plus.
• Outstanding communication skills, written and spoken. Experience with public speaking a plus.
• Experience leading developer focused events such as workshops and hackathons.
• Able to navigate an evolving organization by partnering and working within and between teams.
• Value diversity and unique perspectives to advance ideas.

Recommended Qualifications

· As this role will have a focus on creating compelling visual demos for our APIs and SDKs, we are looking for candidates with strong front-end web development and design skills.

· Experience in building and designing compelling visualizations of location data

· Experience with geospatial technology

· Full stack development
