Repair Technician I
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Performing intermediate repairs on a partial portfolio of handpieces and/or small equipment as assigned by Supervisor
• Performs diagnosis and failure analysis using appropriate test equipment and tooling.
• Documents device evaluation, service recommendations, parts required and preventative maintenance feedback on service work orders.
• Repairs and performs quality testing of products to established specifications as required.
• May provide technical support on a limited portfolio of products as required
• Performs other tasks as assigned by lead or management.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Basic electrical / mechanical skills desired.
• Basic math and logic skills required.
• Basic computer skills and software use desired.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Willingness to learn repair of more advanced products.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Upholds company policies and standards.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year professional work experience in mechanical, production or skilled trades industries and/or proficiency in relevant repair experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Additional training or experience in mechanical device repairs.
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Travel - typically not required.
- Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.
