Job Title: Operations Team Leader

Department: Operations Distribution Centre

Reports To: Operations Manager

Location: Gillingham

Hours: 40 hours per week (£13.22 PH)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To assist the Operations Dept. Management Team in achieving and maintaining the highest possible service levels to all our customers. Ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operation through the optimum use of all resources available.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all duties within your direct area of responsibility are conducted to the required standards and completed in a timely manner, as directed.

To liaise with other members of the Operations management team to ensure all operational daily tasks are covered and are completed in a timely manner.

To lead and guide the Operations TSM's through motivation, individual development and personal example.

Monitor the team members, to ensure they maintain approved standards for work and attendance. To conduct TSM appraisals and performance reviews as required

To maintain team awareness through regular team briefings. Ensure constructive feedback is recognised with the individual TSM and that ideas and suggestions are passed back up to the Operations management team.

Maintain team compliance to all Quality requirements.

Maintain team compliance to all legislative requirements relating to the movement and storage of stock.

To ensure that all required Induction, Basic operations and Health and Safety training is completed for all TSM's in a timely manner

To ensure the highest standard of warehouse housekeeping and maintenance of company assets is achieved.

To fully comply with all Health and Safety requirements and instruction given.

Ensure all equipment is used in a safe manner and by authorised personnel only.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as may be required by management from time to time

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.

Physical Activities:

This position will be working in a warehouse environment, utilizing typical warehouse equipment and will involve lifting and operating some machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and experience of working within a warehouse storage and distribution environment is an essential requirement.

Leadership and/or supervisory experience or training would be a useful asset.

The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is fundamental part of the job.
