Manager, Equipment & Staging Operator

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for managing the equipment centers for the Medical Division which are used for staging and delivery of medical equipment to customers. Duties include the oversight of shipping, receiving, staging and inventory control activities. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains facility employees in Greenville and oversees the management of the other warehouses. Assists Sales Consultants with equipment staging and delivery problems. Negotiates contracts with freight carriers for delivery services from each facility and negotiates maintenance and services contracts for each facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Sales Consultants and Sales Support with distribution problems on shipments made from equipment centers via phone and e-mail communication with delivery companies, customers, and sales personnel. Makes decisions as needed to correct the problems, redirect deliveries, return products, deliver additional product, etc.
  • Communicates with Sales Support, Equipment Purchasing, Sales Consultants and Sales Managers for Medical and Podiatry for oversight in coordinating staged order delivery to customers.
  • Negotiate with delivery companies for all delivery services from the Medical equipment facilities. Confers with NY Logistics Director when necessary.
  • Coordinate annual and cycle inventory counts performed in each center to ensure compliance with company policy. Review inventory status reports monthly and take appropriate action on slow moving or obsolete inventory and old staged orders.
  • Through conference calls with sales associates and sales management assist sales management in ensuring the sales team understands our equipment delivery and staging process.
  • Oversight of each equipment facility including hiring/termination of personnel, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, as needed. Ensure proper compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies and other governmental regulations. Track and report on service quality within each facility including customer delivery survey.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • 10 years warehouse distribution experience and five years of supervisory experience, or the equivalent required. Need to possess good logistical knowledge and have experience negotiating shipping rates with carriers.
  • Basic computer skills. Knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel, and ability to learn applicable computer systems. Detail oriented, good communication skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 7 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; first-level manager.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
