As a critical member of the Hearst Benefits team and a key implementer of this vision, your role as a Senior Analyst, Retirement Plans [AC1] is pivotal in crafting and delivering benefits solutions that profoundly impact our diverse U.S.-based employee population, including 14,000+ benefits-eligible colleagues across multiple geographies, time zones and business units, such as Hearst's television, newspapers, magazine, health, and financial services divisions.

As part of the Retirement team, your work will directly influence Hearst's mission to attract, retain and engage top talent by developing and administering a key part of Hearst's total rewards package: financial and retirement security. In this role, you will develop, inform and support colleagues from all business units and functions to ensure our employees understand, receive and utilize their financial wellbeing benefits.

The Impact You'll Make
  • Support Administration of Pension and 401(k) Plans: Partner with other team members to ensure accurate retirement plan administration and processes in compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements; Perform and review pension benefit calculations.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with benefit vendors and partners to ensure efficient and effective service delivery that aligns with our goals and meets our employees' needs.
  • Ensure Compliance: Help to prepare and submit required filings for defined compensation and defined benefit plans; Manage documentation, reporting, and maintain accurate records; Assist with audit-related processes.
  • Engage Employees: Develop and conduct educational live sessions, webinars and materials to boost employee engagement and understanding of available benefits.
  • Benefits Inquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for employees' benefit questions, providing exemplary support and advice.
  • Market Research & Trends Analysis: Stay updated on market trends and best practices in benefits to ensure our offerings remain competitive and meet employee expectations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Use data analytics to produce insights, track key performance metrics and support strategic decisions regarding retirement programs.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, actuarial science, statistics or related field emphasizing strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in pension or 401(k) administration. Pension experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, including pivot tables and data visualization).
  • Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively presenting complex benefits information.
  • In-depth understanding of retirement compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proactive team player who likes to work collaboratively. There are always opportunities to expand your skillset and participate in stretch projects!
  • This role is hybrid and based in Hearst's Charlotte, NC office.
