Finance Database Administrator

Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) - a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York - seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Finance Database Administrator to join the Finance Department!

We are seeking a Finance Database Administrator to join our finance team. This talented individual will help simplify the system's monthly closing and reporting process, provide governance over critical financial accounting and reporting systems, and liaise with HR to ensure cross-functional alignment within payroll-related processes. This individual will serve as a connector between core accounting, FP&A, HR, and other functions. They will report to the Manager of Internal Audit.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum four years of experience

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree: accounting or highly quantitative majors are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience; Non-profit experience a plus but not required
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of financial systems.
  • Good Knowledge of the procurement process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with people from various educational and occupational backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple workstreams at once.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and Google for Work equivalents
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP systems, data flow, and migration; experience in ERP implementations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Coupa, MIP, and other databases is a plus.

What you'll do

  • Support critical MIP and Coupa software with master data governance, basic user provisioning/adoption tracking, and cross-system data analytics.
  • Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
  • Proactively engage across teams and functions to ensure system processes and master data configuration meet current organizational needs.
  • Manage Data Transformation and integration between ERP systems on a timely basis.
  • Manage and execute system upgrade versions rolled out periodically.
  • Perform server administration tasks (ex, user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); and Manage ERP systems administration, giving and restricting rights.
  • Research event-log warnings and errors and monitor resources to ensure systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Support Manager of Internal Audit with internal controls and audit management.
  • Train the users of ERP systems, troubleshoot daily issues, and provide directions to the users to use the ERP systems effectively.
  • Ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned.

  • Monday-Friday
  • 3/2 Hybrid Model (3 days in office/2 days working from home)
