plan of care as directed by the RN
sinks, OR ante-room. Maintains readiness of instruments and supplies for OR and vaginal deliveries.
instrument counts.
Dilation and Curettage, manual removal of placenta, and repair of cervical laceration.
timely and accurate changes in the patient's condition.
answers call lights regardless of who is assigned to care for the patient.
belongings are properly gathered, labeled with patient identification and are sent with the patient who is
discharged, transferred or expired.
emergency situations. Appropriately participates during crisis situations. Isolates and removes other
patients and family members. Assists with and reassures patients and families. Stays with a patient in
need.
ensures equipment is ready to use.

- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs is required
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification is required
- Certified Surgical Technician or Certified OB Technician (or provides evidence of meeting the
requirements of the NJ Surgical Technology Certification law in effect as of 12/21/2011) is required - One year of hospital PCT experience preferred
- Previous OB Tech or Surgical Tech experience in the acute care setting is preferred
