- Review and input royalty information from contracts into royalty system
- Track and pay contractual obligations to authors
- Validate monthly financial data for month-end general ledger reporting
- Review and process cycle royalties to ensure accuracy and timely payment
- Work closely with editorial, contracts, accounts payable, sales, and other departments
- Respond to Authors and Agents concerning advance and royalty queries
- Monthly review of active ISBNs for new products to be entered into royalty system
- Monthly review of scanned documents for contractual changes and payee/address updates
- Review and enter semiannual intercompany sales data from UK sister companies
- Assist our subrights accountant as needed
- Assist the Royalty Director and other team members
- Research and analyze data as needed
- Review tax documents to ensure appropriate tax withholding for foreign payees
- 1-2 years’ experience in an accounting/financial position
- Degree preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret contracts
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to grasp new computer systems and procedures quickly and accurately
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective problem solving and research skills
- Must be results driven and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail

The compensation range for this position is $47,000 - $50,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
