Logistics at full potential

Currently we are looking for a Warehouse Manager in our newest site in Bergen op Zoom. As Warehouse Manager you will ensure the efficient and effective handling of goods flows, so that they are ready for transportation within the specified time and in accordance with the established quality standards, following the logistics plan and KPIs. Additionally, you ensure that the storage of goods for customers is efficient, effective, and according to the agreed-upon terms with the client. In this position, you directly supervise Team Leaders and Coordinators, and indirectly oversee employees in the warehouse. You report to the Operations Manager.

What you do on a typical day

  • Monitoring the overall performance of the operational team, identifying system/process gaps, and being able to improve them
  • Responding to identified issues, determining their cause, and implementing corrective actions to achieve the desired results
  • Managing, coaching, evaluating, and developing Team Leaders according to established procedures and legal regulations
  • Leading and shaping the implementation of operational processes
  • Ensuring optimal preparation of operational progress and performance regarding KPIs, in line with the Service Level Agreement with the client
  • Making arrangements with the workforce coordinator for optimal quantitative and qualitative staffing
  • Identifying bottlenecks, initiating improvements, and implementing them
  • Providing instructions to internal stakeholders regarding process changes

What do you need to succeed at GXO
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/WO) in business administration/logistics
  • Experience in logistics and warehousing and managing a large group of people in a warehouse setting
  • Ability to build an organization and its corresponding team
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality
  • Proficiency in spoken and written in English
  • Independent, hands-on, proactive, analytical, and capable of achieving objectives
