Are you an experienced Transport Manager looking for a new opportunity with a company which prides itself on colleague development and progression?

Here at GXO Logistics in Wynyard, we're looking for a Transport Manager to ensure the smooth running of all transport operations, taking full responsibility for all delivery, collection, and distribution activities. if you enjoy responsibility and working from a number of locations in the surrounding area, this could be the role for you!

This is predominantly a Monday to Friday role- a rare find in the logistics sector. However, we ask for a level of flexibility from time to time.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day:
  • You'll ensure the safe operation of all distribution activities across the depot, ensuring compliance with H&S legislation & safe systems of work.
  • You'll play a vital role in shaping the culture and approach of the workforce and supporting and developing the team through leading, coaching, and communicating
  • Monitoring productivity to Ensure daily / weekly/period KPIs are achieved for your team whilst maintaining company standards.
  • Effectively communicate with relevant stakeholders, identifying both challenges and solutions.
  • Support with ad-hoc driving requirements to sites in the area

What you need to succeed at GXO
  • CPC national or international qualification and f ull UK driving licence (with C&E entitlement)
  • Previous experience of managing a diverse transport department
  • Exposure to operating within a commercial environment sufficient to develop effective customer service and commercial understanding
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Health and Safety and associated regulations
