We are recruiting for a Teamleader based at one of our sites in Amsterdam, you are responsible for the processes and the team within your department. You are constantly managing and motivating your team, you also strive for process improvements.
In a team of several Teamleaders you work closely together with various departments within the organization. You are also responsible for the appraisal and coaching of your employees and you guide them through processes. You are responsible for quality and productivity numbers and you coordinate operational activities within your department. You are also involved in setting up a sharp staffing and you ensure proper time registration.
As a Teamleader you are responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the department with a particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates

Hours are Monday to Friday - there is 2 shift patterns 6.00 - 15.00hrs and 13.00 - 22. 00hrs alternating weeks (however there is an option to do set shift of 13.00 - 22.00hrs if this is your preference) - depending on the shifts due to location public transport may provide difficult.
What you do on a typical day
- Manage team performance; develop associates by providing training and coaching;
- Instruct, inform and support the employees of the department, so that the work is carried out safely, efficiently and correctly, in accordance with the applicable standards (including KPI's and productivities).
- Maintain a safe work environment with a positive team dynamic
- Lead start-up activities with cross functional teams
- Make recommendations regarding new hires, terminating contracts, performance evaluations and promotions;
- Ensure that documents work instructions of processes are up to date and are being followed by the department;
- Continually strive to improve the processes of your department.
- Setting up a sharp staffing planning.

What do you need to succeed at GXO
- You have at least MBO (post-secondary college) level of work and thinking
- You have at least three years of experience in a similar position
- You will ideally be familiar with the logistics industry
- You have good communication skills at multiple levels in English (Dutch language is a nice to have).
- You have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude and you have a self-starting ability.
- You have good knowledge of office software and WMS functionality.
