Guidepoint

General Manager

New York, NY

Overview:

Qsight, a division of Guidepoint, is looking to hire a General Manager to lead our fast-growing data insights business. This role will be responsible for growing revenue, helping set the company’s strategy, and positioning the business for rapid scale. Investor clients look to Qsight for near real-time data on company and industry performance to inform critical investment decisions.

We are looking for a well-rounded executive who has run multi-functional organizations and managed a dynamic team of business leaders. While this hire will play a critical role in securing top-line revenue growth, we are looking for a leader with broad-based experiences and a track record of delivering growth in entrepreneurial environments. Experience in these sectors is not required but a strong understanding of how to grow and scale a data business is essential.

This is a hybrid position out of our New York City headquarters.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a fast-growing, unique data insights business providing critical insights to stakeholders in the Aesthetics and medical devices sectors; the business line generates over $10M in ARR
  • Be responsible for developing and delivering revenue targets for the group: adding new clients and growing existing client relationships
  • Lead an entrepreneurial team of business leaders in sales, marketing, product, and analytics
  • Build out new functional groups as the business scales and needs arise, such as operations and client services
  • Be comfortable engaging with technical leads to ensure a cohesive data and technology strategy with the broader business
  • Play a key role in critical hiring decisions and the design of the organizational structure
  • Optimize team performance and actively support the team’s professional development
  • Work closely with Qsight’s Managing Director and other executives to set company and product strategy to ensure client needs are being met (the GM will not own product strategy, but we expect this person to develop a strong market-centric view on the products)
  • Serve as a leading voice and thought leader for the company for these sectors, developing a presence among key clients and at industry events
  • Improve the overall operational effectiveness of the business to build towards the rapid scaling of the business and achieve high growth
  • Champion Qsight’s entrepreneurial, client-focused culture

What You Have:

  • A revenue-focused commercial mindset with the breadth and comfort to engage in other functional areas critical to the success of a business (especially understanding data products)
  • A deep understanding of how data insights and analytics work, with proven experience scaling a data business through the expansion into new markets, new products, or new services
  • Passionate about delivering excellence in client service and support, and comfortable being in-market
  • Prior experience managing a cross-functional team
  • Knowledge of the compliance environment around investor-focused data products and exposure to the compliance review process for institutional investors is a major plus
  • Experience working with one of the following industries is a plus, but not critical: consumer products, medical devices, medical Aesthetics/skincare, financial services
  • A start-up oriented, can-do, and hands-on management approach with a strong desire to build and execute a world-class data business
  • A passion for leading people and developing talented and highly effective teams
