Azure Platform Engineer

As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will be an instrumental part of the engineering team.

This position can be hybrid in Toronto, Canada.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure virtual networks, App Services, Function Apps, Azure Container Apps, and other cloud workloads/resources.
• Implement and maintain Azure resource groups and subscriptions.
• Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Configure Azure security policies, access controls, and firewall rules.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data security and privacy.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions on Azure.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Azure CLI) for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform, Helm, Ansible.
• Configure Dashboards on Datadog for stakeholders.
• Set up Azure monitoring and alerting for infrastructure and applications. Configure Datadog.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Windows Servers, Azure services and resources.
• Work closely with DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with Azure services.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to align cloud infrastructure with organizational goals.
• Lead research / design / architecture / development of enterprise services on Azure.
• Participate in Kanban delivery model to deliver sprint releases through stories/epics utilizing Jira to track all development work and track overall velocity.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to design, administer and support security of infrastructure and enterprise hosting platforms.
• Build / Maintain strong partnerships with IT stakeholders including Delivery Engineering, Application Development, Architecture and Security

Technical Skills Required

• 4+ years of experience working as Azure Platform Engineer.
• Strong experience in skills listed below.
• A Computer Science or Engineering equivalent Degree is a Must

Good to Have

• Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-303/AZ-304), or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400).
• Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
