Purpose of the role:
To create/ develop winning new products and maintain the existing product portfolio aligned with customer requirements by defining/ delivering technical solutions for business projects, on time in full, including implementation / optimisation at customer premises.
Participate in delivery of the technical aspects of projects that deliver the growth and profitability of the European business for specific customer(s).
To develop on-going relationships with specified customers by providing a point of contact for customer's technical function (usually with Sales or manager).
Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with marketing and customers to enable delivery of authentic, marketable, profitable products.
- Create, formulate, and provide process parameters for new product developments aligned with customer, legislative and food safety requirements within the scope of Griffith long range plan and purpose driven strategy.
- Follow GCI process under guidance in order to maintain existing business through formula optimisation (price, quality), and/or range extensions, evaluation of new / alternative raw materials in product applications, and reducing complexity.
- Participates and engages fully in production trials of new products both internally and at customer locations; provides technical support in resolving on-going issues. A degree of travel and flexibility is required.
- Effective operation of Griffith computer systems including timely and accurate entry of formula data into GF Apps to ensure effective commercialisation of new products; utilisation of the CRM system; sample and raw material management systems.
- Develops close working relationships with selected / assigned customers through regular direct contact thereby ensuring that the business understands the customer's requirements (ingredient, product, and legislative restrictions), their operational processes and their technical requirements.
- Writes and conducts product presentations, workshops and Griffith Foods capabilities presentations to the customer showing our products in application & a marketable format.
- Participates in the generation of new products to support the proactive category and insight lead presentations
- To work to tight deadlines set by our customer & ensure that briefs are effectively met within stated timescales.
- To liaise with key internal departments e.g. purchasing, quality etc, such that the needs of projects are met.
- Attend and contribute to the site Product and Process Integrity meeting.
- Due to the nature of the role, there must be no limitations for product sampling, therefore no allergies or food restrictions.
- Proactively and visibly supports the Health and Safety standards, rules and regulations of the organisation
Requirements:
- Either a degree in Food Technology or related subject OR proven relevant on the job experience.
- Minimum level of previous experience required - for example University Placement or previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
- English prerequisite (additional second language a plus)
- Full driving Licence (preferred)
- Computer Skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Words, Outlook.
