Scheduling and Demand Planning Manager

Leads the team responsible for forecasting customer demand, creating and executing a master production schedule to meet that demand, optimizing inventory, and improving customer satisfaction. Looks for ways to be more efficient or cost-effective and provides strategic vision and direction for the team.

Primary Responsibilities
• Build and lead a team of professionals accountable for production planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and service levels
• Lead, develop and motivate the demand and scheduling team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators
• Create short and long-term objectives related to the overall demand and scheduling functions
• Develop and improve strategic processes involving forecasting, demand management, and the development of effective internal tools, including a Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of all materials to optimize customer satisfaction, availability to ship, material storage and distribution costs
• Work closely with employees throughout the supply chain, including sales, customer service, manufacturing, and marketing to understand the entire GBP Coated Products value stream and drive improved efficiency and cost reductions

• Regularly collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management with a minimum of 7 years Supply Chain Management or related experience in a manufacturing environment with 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Proficient in supply chain planning best practices, including but not limited to, Capacity Planning, scheduling, MPS/MRP/ERP systems, shipping, and Inventory Management.
• Strong analytical skills with additional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret common business reports/data, financial reports, and effectively communicate to various employee groups, including senior leaders.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and translate into functional and practical solutions.
• Demonstrated success and passion for leading, organizing, developing, and training a team
• APICS or other material management certification preferred
