Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $143,000.00 to $238,400.00.

Position Details
As the Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance and Investigations, you will play a key role overseeing and enhancing the Company's compliance and investigation functions. Reporting to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel - Ethics & Compliance, you will be responsible for designing and implementing compliance policies, leading investigations and risk assessments, assisting with litigation, and providing strategic legal advice to stakeholders worldwide. This role is based in our Chicago/Lake Forest, IL location.
You Will
• Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to potential compliance violations, employee misconduct, and other legal matters. Marshal investigations data to detect trends and provide reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Company policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the Company's risk profile and regulatory requirements. Oversee the implementation of these policies globally, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and evolving legal standards. Provide trainings as necessary.
• Lead regular risk assessments on topics such as corruption conflicts of interest, and fraud. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks, working closely with internal audit, finance, legal, and global business partners to implement effective controls.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators and related metrics to measure and improve the company's compliance performance and the effectiveness and efficiency of the compliance program.
• Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations globally, assessing their impact on the Company's operations and updating policies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote transparency and integrity in business practices.
• Provide advice and support on litigation and pre-litigation disputes and matters.
• Collaborate closely with other members of the Grainger Corporate Affairs team.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing new processes, document templates, playbooks, and training materials.
• Embrace curiosity with a continual learning mindset.
You Have
• A J.D. and are licensed to practice law in Illinois or another U.S. jurisdiction
• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing internal investigations, compliance programs, and/or litigation, preferably with a mix of law firm, in-house, and/or government experience.
• Experience using data analytics to assess risks or measure the efficacy of compliance programs
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Fluency in multiple languages and experience working in diverse cultural environments is a plus.
• Up to 20% travel
