Grainger Management LLC is seeking a Principal Data Scientist in Lake Forest, IL with the following requirements: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field plus 5 years related experience. Prior experience must include: Optimization Modeling: Develop and implement models using linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and heuristics to solve complex supply chain problems using tools like Gurobi/CPLEX; Supply Chain Domain Knowledge: Proven track record in applying supply chain management principles, including network footprint optimization, inventory positioning, and transportation strategies, to solve a broad set of business and supply chain questions across various industries; Scenario Modeling and Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact of various supply chain policies and input parameters on service, operational efficiency and cost using tools like LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru; Data Pipeline & Visualization: Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow into models using tools like SQL/Alteryx and creating insightful visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders; Programming Skills: Develop production-level code and deploy optimization solutions effectively. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, and experience with data manipulation libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy. Up to 40% remote work allowed.
Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $138,715.00 to $200,700.00, which reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting. Base pay will depend on factors such as work location, relevant experience, and skills. Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion at any time, consistent with applicable law.
