Position Summary:
The Pricing Analyst will participate in the execution and analysis of Grainger's pricing strategies and tactics. Working under the Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy, this role conducts detailed pricing and financial analysis and will be working closely with various cross functional groups to grow overall company profitability. The Pricing Analyst role will be driving the execution of pricing and discounting strategies including the implementation of pricing decisions.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in our Thornhill, ON office.
This is a 12-month contract covering a maternity leave.
Job Responsibilities (You Will):
- Responsible for the management of the Pricing Strategy general inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Participate in cross-functional projects to develop and improve Grainger Canada's pricing programs
- Develop quantitative, actionable insights that drive decision-making through the application of statistical, and/or advanced data analytics techniques
- Develop new pricing models to analyze the potential financial impact and generate new ideas
- Assist in the development and maintenance of new price points used for quoting (QRP)
- Work closely with the Product Category Managers to understand their catalogue pricing strategies and provide guidance and recommended prices for each catalogue price update
- Responsible for the documentation, maintenance, and execution of various pricing processes
- Manage price points in various internal systems
- Develop and execute internal, as well as field, communications regarding price changes and corresponding impacts
- Provide pricing-related input on product & corporate strategy decisions
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Pricing
- Develop post analysis and provide recommendations to leadership
- Provide support to internal partners in the development of special pricing programs
- Support pricing maintenance activities related to Grainger Canada's primary, custom and standard pricing offers
- The individual will need to work in close collaboration with the other parts of the organization including product management, sales, services, finance, and sales support.
Education/Experience (You Have):
- Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma, in Business/Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience or analyst role is required
- Experience organizing and analyzing large complex data sets
- Self-motivated with proven ability to establish and sustain strong internal customer relationships and external customer knowledge and effectively balance customer needs with those of the business
- Ability to manage change and influence others in order to reach stated objectives
- Excellent communication and business writing skills. Ability to determine the appropriate amount of detail gained in research in order to present findings in an accurate, methodical, and concise manner
- Good financial and analytical skills that can be applied in a decision making and problem solving environment.
- Proficiency with information systems, including SQL Server and Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be detail oriented, self directed, organized and efficient at time management and working in a team setting.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure
- A self-starter, taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required
- Goes beyond job requirements to seek opportunities and generate ideas for improvements
