With the implementation of the Manhattan warehouse management system (WMS), the FlowCo is a new position that assists the warehouse Leadership team in directing the flow of outbound orders throughout the facility. The FlowCo is accountable for meeting the daily outbound performance goals by effectively managing the outbound waving activities and direction for order picking, pulling, and packing assignments.

Job Responsibilities (You Will):

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize the WMS analytical tools like reports and dashboards to support key decisions that to ensure the direction of waving activities and flow of outbound orders achieve the daily performance goals with a high degree of safety and quality.
  • Assist warehouse Leadership team in planning daily activities of department including: workload, scheduling, and job assignments to achieve optimal work flow productivity.
  • Re-assign work to workgroups or to individuals that maximize efficiency and productivity to ensure timely completion and flow of the picking and pulling/packing processes meet daily performance goals.
  • Through follow up and reassignment of Team Members, ensures daily work schedules and deadlines are met and report significant deviations from the plan to warehouse Leadership team.
  • Work with warehouse Leadership to communicate process for root cause resolution caused by performance issues and errors.
  • Foster a safe work environment of respect, consideration, open honest interaction, fun, and full participation in team meetings and activities with a winning attitude.
  • Provides assistance to warehouse Team Members, by clarifying questions pertaining to job assignments and resolving loss prevention, pick or pack issues.
  • Effectively manage continuous flow from picking to packing while monitoring all conveyor lines for jams.
  • Actively participate in completing tasks within the department to ensure daily performance goals are met.
  • Periodically investigate and resolve issues or track the status of an order that requires attention during the picking, pulling/packing or shipping process.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of warehouse and own work area.
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) in the storage, handling and movement of product.
  • Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
  • Follow safety policies, procedures of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and WHMIS in the storage, handling and movement of product.
  • Actively participates in process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education/Experience (You Have):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience. Some college coursework up to and/or including college degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience required with a demonstrated ability to work with people and the capacity to lead and earn respect of others.
  • Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed information clearly, accurately and concisely in a fast paced, high tension environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities; continuously seeking ways to improve the department and team's performance.
  • Strong proficiency in the English language - both written and verbal. With the ability to communicate ideas, concerns, or tasks in a way that demonstrates respect for the individual.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to take appropriate action to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with: the internet, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience working with warehouse related systems and tools such as: warehouse management system (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanning tools, shipping systems (ConnectShip/UPS), or systems that generate ship labels and track couriers would be an asset.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in a position requiring:
  • Occasional standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Squatting, bending, stooping, grasping, pushing, pulling and lifting of product from floor to shoulder heights.
  • Wearing and operating wrist-worn or hand-held computerized scanning equipment
  • Working in a position requiring work at elevated heights.
  • Able to tolerate an environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and work around moving equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently without close supervision and must be self-directed.
  • Experience working with warehouse related systems and tools such as: warehouse management system (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanning tools, would be an asset.
  • Previous experience using powered industrial equipment (cherry picker, pallet jacks, carts, walkie, tugger, swing reach and other equipment as needed) required.
  • Ability to safely meet performance expectations for quality, teamwork, productivity and housekeeping.
  • Must have a positive, winning attitude that contributes to a constructive teamwork environment.
  • Experience in "wowing" the customer (internal/external) and commitment to achieving results.
