Technical Solutions Engineer, Chronicle

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix or Windows systems from Kernel to Shell, file systems and client-server protocols.
  • Experience working with customers to know their security posture and security strategy.

  • Ability to work differing shifts and non-standard work hours.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Certification in Security such as Security+, CEH, CISM, CISSP.

  • Experience administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless, and network monitoring tools.
  • Experience using techniques such as packet capture/packet analysis, artificial packet creation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to troubleshoot network latency, packet loss, and other performance issues at the packet level.

    As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will combine software development, networking, and systems administration expertise with an aptitude for technical consulting, troubleshooting, and analysis. You will work across multiple customer-facing teams to improve the product's goal, while also ensuring that global businesses and organizations continue to be successful. You will help to resolve technology problems and design Google-scale services.

    In this role, you will not be eligible for immigration sponsorship and you will require additional background check clearance to work with government clients.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Diagnose and resolve customer problems, design and implement new operations, productivity and investigation tools to increase efficiency for Technical Solutions Engineering.
    • Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for key stakeholders in the engineering, business, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve the product goals.
    • Obtain and maintain an understanding of Google's product technology and software architectures, build in-product self-service solutions.
    • Work closely with multiple Product and Engineering teams and understand ways to improve the product and interact with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to drive production excellence.
    • Advocate for customers by representing their issues to Product Management and Software Engineering and develop innovative ways to resolve issues.
