Technical Program Manager, Water Sustainability, Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience planning and developing water replenishment or infrastructure projects to support local operations.
  • Experience managing relationships with NGOs, research institutions, and utilities.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience supporting and/or developing strategic initiatives with water domain NGOs, companies, and research institutions.
  • Experience in a cross-functional role at the interface of commercial and engineering teams, with a track record of driving results and execution in multi-stakeholder environments and complex systems.
  • Understanding of water-based cooling technologies and the data center environment.
  • Familiarity with the Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting methodology and indicators.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and select projects that provide volumetric water benefit and improve watershed health, directing external partners and coordinating internally.
  • Develop opportunities for strategic partnerships to enable scale and impact across locations. I dentify new pathways to address watershed challenges, originating projects, and creating a more robust pipeline.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to produce communications assets, elevating Google's impact on local watersheds via investment in replenishment and infrastructure projects. Define locally relevant engagement strategies for key locations.
  • Implement programmatic improvements, such as tracking of replenishment progress, reporting on key performance indicators, and reducing contracting timelines.
