About the job
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
In this role, you will develop and implement best practice build assembly work packages and processes through collaboration with many stakeholders. You will manage all construction, procurement, and site assembly work packages for the engineering and construction of Google's Data Center portfolio by the organization of data, implementation of scalable processes, and the use of professional tools.
Responsibilities
- Support execution teams with expertise and knowledge of field assembly.
- Develop field assembly sequences for modular construction. Support the complete life-cycle for data center deployment strategy and schedule.
- Lead work package documentation development including resource and duration estimates, assembly instructions, quality checklists, and installation sequences.
- Review and approve field assembly plans, and manufacturer and contractor quality plans as the subject matter expert. Support field execution and data collection for feedback loop.
- Set and maintain productivity goals for critical work packages for the region. Maintain work package catalog and understand agreement structure (e.g., IPD, design build, manufacturing) and its impact on manufacturer work packages responsibility.
