Staff Software Engineer, Google Cloud Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience in architecting and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with Cloud based architectures.
  • 5 years of experience of working in the domain of APIs and services.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 12 years of experience with software engineering.
  • Knowledge of building scalable distributed systems.
  • Understanding of public cloud services, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with open-source development and community engagement.

One Platform is the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) platform that speeds up development of new services for GCP products and external providers. Cloud Control Front End (CCFE) is a part of the One Platform, fully managed API hosting stack as a service. CCFE minimizes the time and effort required by a Google team to build, deploy, and maintain a production-ready GCP service by providing common functionality and best practice patterns.

In this role, you will service owners to have the infrastructure and tools they need to quickly, easily, and cost-effectively design and set up their services exposing customer-facing APIs to meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strategy and roadmap for successfully scaling API Hosting infra and integration experience.
  • Build and maintain production and services.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with UX, Program Management, and Technical Program Management.

  • Create and launch a product or APIs.
  • Work with distributed systems, micro services, and infrastructure automation.
