Senior Software Engineer, Gemini, Cloud Configuration Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Candidates will typically have 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages.
  • Typically 3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience programming in C++, Java, Python, or Golang.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in Large Language models (LLMs) and Generative AI

Our charter is to make Google Cloud easy to use by customers by giving them the tools to automate the management of all of their infrastructure. Our mission is to apply Gemini to make GCP automated infrastructure management well supported by AI including guided user experience, quality configuration generation, as well as best practices and custom solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research and implement relevant technology and implementation choices. Design, implement, launch, and land code.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and oncall support for shipped products.
  • Make technical decisions with organizational resource constraints in mind. Work with domain experts, UX, and PM Fellows to translate organizational needs into technical decisions.
  • Develop software and infrastructure with a focus on long-term maintainability.
  • Help organizations adopt industry best-practices around design, development, infrastructure, security, privacy, and software maintenance.
