Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 4 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with computer graphic frameworks and libraries (e.g., OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of embedded systems development, RTOS concepts, device drivers, and hardware/software integration.

Skia is Google's 2D graphics library, working to support compelling design across all platforms. As a Graphics Engineer, you will work on advancing vector graphics to support delightful creatives for a growing number of Google products.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products-from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones-that have an impact on people's lives across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Enhance capabilities and performance of 2D and limited 3D geometry and effects in Skia Graphics.
  • Optimize graphics for embedded platforms (e.g., low memory, power-focused), mobile, and web.
  • Interact with design and engineering teams to build cross-platform solutions.
