RF Hardware Engineer, Pixel Product

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in RF design, or 1 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with CAD tools for RF layout and schematic design.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience using RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, or communication test boxes (e.g., CMW, CMX, or UXM).
  • Experience with test automation using scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabView).
  • Experience with multiple wireless communication systems (e.g., 5G, LTE, etc.).
  • Experience with modern cellular RF front-end architecture.
  • Knowledge of RF software tools (e.g., High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS), ADS).

    As the Radio Frequency (RF) Hardware Engineer, you will work in the design, development, and optimization of Google Pixel phones. The team works with all radio access technologies from 2G to 5G, and are focused on transmitter and receiver performance through circuit design, calibration, linearization, and RF feature enhancements. You will work with cross-functional teams to support the wireless performance for Pixel devices.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Manage PCB layout and routing for Modem/Transceiver areas.
    • Design and optimize RF cellular system solutions, including 5G sub-6, LTE, and 2G/3G.
    • Validate transmitter and receiver performance per KPI test plan and 3rd Generation Partnership Project standards.
    • Resolve hardware/software integration issues encountered during certification testing, compliance testing, and factory builds.
    • Work with component vendors and partners to integrate RF front-end components and modem subsystems.
