Labor Relations Leader

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience with market and regulatory environments in multiple EMEA countries and EWC legislation.

  • Experience managing and leading a team.

  • Experience managing a European Works Council and other employee bodies, from setting up, through implementation.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience managing ambiguity and analyzing metrics to find root causes, identity opportunities and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Experience managing other leaders and separate contributors.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across teams and act as a trusted advisor to all levels of management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex messages clearly to a wide audience and interact with leaders to present/defend/clarify issues regarding an existing challenge.

    In this role, you will be responsible for managing relationships with works councils and other employee representatives to ensure Google meets its information and consultation obligations and providing advice to stakeholders with respect to navigating other labor relations requirements or managing complex issues. You will lead a team of Labor Relations Managers across the region to comply with our legal requirements, address complex issues and minimize related risks. You will develop labor relations strategies and build constructive relationships with employee representative bodies. You will also influence and partner with the wider business to understand planned organizational changes and develop a plan to coordinate and complete applicable information and consultation processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership to mitigate risk and build constructive labor relations with works councils and employee representative bodies across the region.
    • Oversee the relationship with a newly established European Works Council (EWC).
    • Lead a team of country-based labor relations managers to ensure a consistent approach and delivery of objectives. Be a trusted and expert advisor to HR and management on complex labor relationissues.
    • Monitor and analyze internal and external trends, regulatory changes and provide strategic and tactical guidance for HR and leaders.Anticipate, assess, and manage risk by identifying or developing strategies to mitigate risk.
    • Partner with and influence Business HR, policy owners and others to implement business-specific or corporate-wide initiatives, programs, and policies through efficient information and consultation processes.
