Audio Systems Engineer, Google Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a consumer electronics technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in compression and quantization techniques for hardware efficiency.
  • Experience with Python, C, C++, embedded engineering.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustics, or related disciplines.
  • 7 years of experience in Consumer Hardware, productizing new technology.
  • Expertise in machine learning for audio enhancement, and sound and context understanding.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Tune, evaluate, optimize, and debug audio algorithms, including DSP and ML advances in audio solutions.
    • Assess audio performance, develop tools, and automate new methodologies to launch audio solutions.
    • Identify and prototype new technologies, define engineering requirements, success criteria, work cross-functionally to design, develop, integrate, improve, and validate the tech to deliver a premium experience on Pixel devices.
    • Collaborate with Product, Algorithms, and Software teams to comprehend DSP/ML requirements and deliver solutions that meet key user experiences.
