Technology Business Development is a point of contact between Engineering and other parts of the firm, helping leadership and business units to leverage the firm's technological expertise and scale solutions across business units. You will create and develop strategic relationships across Engineering, the firm and technology companies. You will play a key role in maximizing technology-related business opportunities.

Technology Business Development establishes engineering partnerships and supports client engagement for the enterprise. The team also works to enhance technology discovery, bring innovative solutions to unique business problems and to scale existing solutions across common use cases throughout the firm. We are deeply connected to the startup, FinTech and VC community and work, alongside our engineers, to meet business objectives. The team generates commercial value through leveraging and expanding strategic relationships and partnerships across the firm.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Drive strategic initiatives while supporting business development opportunities and solving for engineering use cases
  • Partner with client / business coverage teams and engineering to connect the dots across the organization
  • Identify gaps and common problems within the organization. Provide transparency and derive commercial value from existing relationships
  • Understand technology trends and domain themes, as well as enterprise drivers and priorities
  • Keep a pulse on the FinTech, Venture, and portfolio company community and perform relationship management functions
  • Help to define the technology partnership strategy for our roadmap
  • Interface between business units to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives
  • Provide insights regarding specific technology companies to support senior leader and executive interactions
Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3.5 years work experience in technology or the financial sector
  • At least 1-2 years of project, relationship, or account management experience
  • Broad knowledge of and interest in FinTech, Financial Services, GS businesses and Technology
  • Strong stakeholder / relationship management skills
  • Results-oriented and pro-active. Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects while focusing on the quality of work delivered
  • Highly proactive person who demonstrates initiative and ownership and can work with little direction on complicated, sensitive assignments
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong presentation skills; able to generate commercial proposals
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work under pressure and prioritize
  • Fast learner, ability to navigate the organization to get up to speed quickly on key topics
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a professional manner. Consistently exercise good judgement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Functional Expertise - Keeps up-to-date with emerging business, economic, and market trends. Experience working in / with FinTechs, start-ups or VCs
  • Communication - Highly articulate with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership - Lead initiatives to completion, flexible and able to respond positively to change
  • Technical Skills - Sales, banking or engineering experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, pays attention to detail and demonstrates appropriate financial/analytical skills. Consistently able to produce high quality documentation and ability to deliver while working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Drive and Motivation - Organized and self- motivator with ability to work independently, multi-task and manage conflicting priorities
  • Influencing Outcomes - Ability to coordinate and gain consensus across multiple groups, in multiple regions, at various levels of seniority
  • Teamwork - Deep networking and industry knowledge / connectivity. Strong team player, collaborates with others within and across teams
  • Client and Business Focus - Effectively handles difficult requests, builds trusting, long-term relationships
  • Creativity/Innovation - Identify new ways to improve current processes and develop creative solutions that are grounded in reality and have practical value
  • Process Expertise - Experience with managing relationships at senior level
