  • Providing tax information for the firm's financial statements.
  • Preparing/supervising the preparation of tax returns for the firm as well as any associated supporting documentation
  • Advising the firm's professionals on the tax implications of the firm's businesses and/or transactions undertaken by or for the firm.

The Tax department is part of the Finance division, which is a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's liquidity, capital and risk, and providing the overall financial control and reporting functions. Finance is a critical area within Goldman Sachs and the division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.

YOUR IMPACT

We're looking for a tax professional to join our tax team to use their skills and experience to work within the Global Transfer Pricing team. You will work closely with senior tax professionals on the development and implementation of transfer pricing methodologies as well as ensuring that the firm has complete and accurate transfer pricing documentation including the creation and review of benchmarking reports, master and local files.

TAX DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

We are a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's worldwide taxes and are responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting of taxes, tax planning, business advisory and management of taxing authority examinations. Our work contributes directly to the firm's success and the division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.

International Tax Planning & Advisory Overview

Being part of the Tax department, we advise the firm's professionals on the tax implications of transactions and of new products in development for the firm and its clients; tax planning for the firm; support with legal interpretations and support for implementation of new broad-based tax and regulatory rules; tax and regulatory audit support; and tax compliance work for the firm's business entities.

Job Description:

  • The position will focus principally on US federal income tax transfer pricing, including determination of appropriate "arm's length" pricing.
  • Supporting discussions on advising on new businesses or transactions globally that have transfer pricing considerations.
  • Drafting, submission and management of Advance Pricing Agreement and Mutual Agreement Procedure applications
  • Assisting with discussions on changes in US tax law and regulation or on OECD proposals
  • Working closely with various businesses, controllers, and other stakeholders on implementing and reviewing transfer pricing methodologies on a global basis
  • Supporting the preparation of the US federal income tax return and contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation
  • Assisting with global controversy/audit responses to both tax authorities and financial regulators, including the IRS and Federal Reserve
  • Supporting the enhancement of the Firm's Transfer pricing infrastructure through automation and digital transformation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of US federal income tax transfer pricing experience at a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) or large multinational
  • Strong written, analytical and technical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Financial Services and international tax experience a plus

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
