The Private Wealth Management team is a specialist group within Credit that maintains primary responsibility for (i) managing loan and derivatives transactions for new and existing counterparties of Private Wealth Management, and (ii) evaluating and monitoring ongoing exposure levels for existing counterparties. Given that high net worth individuals have varied sources of wealth, many major industry sectors and product types are covered by this team to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review private client lending transactions, determine fit with risk appetite and approve counterparty risk ratings, having developed an independent view of financial information, collateral terms and key documentation protections proposed.

• Support senior credit team members in the review and escalation of large lending transactions including through to capital committee. Participate in business selection committee meetings

• Portfolio monitoring of active positions, surveilling industry and counterparty specific risks followed by recommending appropriate action

• Develop relationships with key industry participants inside and outside the firm

Basic Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of credit risk management experience, with a preference for background in private client credit risk

• Experience in private banking products including commercial real estate, structured loans, and/or margin lending

• Demonstrable track record of independent decision making and the ability to steer client/business negotiations

• Strong legal documentation (loan and/or derivatives), analytical and communication skills

• Judgment and Problem Solving - Thinks ahead, anticipates questions, plans for contingencies, finds alternative solutions and identifies clear objectives. Sees the big picture and effectively analyses complex issues

Creativity/Innovation - Looks for ways to improve current processes and develop creative solutions that are grounded in reality and have practical value
