Legal, Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings Lawyer, Vice President, Hong Kong

In Hong Kong we are looking for an experienced lawyer to join our Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings group. The Litigation group manages litigation, arbitration, regulatory and other proceedings involving the firm, and is part of the wider Asia Pacific Legal department, liaises closely with the London and New York Litigation practice area and works closely with all areas and level of personnel within the firm globally. The caseload derives from all aspects of our Asia Pacific operations including global banking and markets, and asset and wealth management.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading and providing strategic, hands-on advice on complex commercial litigation, government and regulatory investigations and internal investigations.
  • Managing external counsel and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Advising business and control groups within the firm on regulatory, commercial issues and reputational risk.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Lawyer with 6+ years' post qualification experience at a leading law firm, financial services in-house position, or a relevant government/regulatory agency.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client skills; ability to build and maintain strong relationship with relevant business and control groups within the firm; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to assess risks.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous matters under deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
  • Chinese language skills (spoken and written).
