The Regulatory Management & Entity Solutions team ensures Global Banking & Markets (GBM) is well positioned to respond to the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. The team creates and manages implementation of strategies to guide Goldman Sachs through the regulatory changes that are occurring in the financial markets. We identify areas of particular risk and opportunity for the firm and its client base and develop strategies and processes to address them. The role will include working closely with Divisional Leadership, Sales, Trading, and other stakeholders like Government Affairs, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Engineering.

Our team is leading a near term (1-2yr) uplift to augment GBM's traceability and mapping between regulations and policies, and applicable business controls. This will require a detailed understanding of the regulations themselves, but most importantly entail practical application of the regulations to GBM's businesses, processes, technology and people. Experience in any or all aspects of this work at financial institutions will equip the ideal candidate well for the task. Medium-to-longer term we foresee application of the expertise developed in an ongoing capacity within our broader team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with stakeholders across Global Banking & Markets to achieve best-in-class framework for sustainable regulatory implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to creatively problem solve and implement long-term strategic solutions.
  • Help the business to navigate an evolving regulatory environment and put in place robust, sustainable processes to meet regulatory demands.
  • Focus on driving strategy for GBM regulatory change focus projects, deploying a strong knowledge of GS's business practices, the regulatory backdrop and cross-asset market structure themes.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of the themes which the Regulatory Management & Entity Solutions team cover, with a particular focus on European and US regulatory topics.
  • Carry out data handling and analysis in order to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support the team in building out an internal front-to-back regulatory control and governance framework for GBM.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience tracing regulations to business activities and controls would be preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to distil large amounts of complex information into readily digestible work product.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and proactive learner.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, as we expect the candidate to be self-sufficient assigning priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated. Ability to create and enhance their own book of work and embrace opportunities as they appear.
  • Excellent working use of Excel & PowerPoint and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data into usable reports.
  • Excellent team work skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of sales and trading workflows from buy-side, sell-side and trading venue perspectives.
  • Ability to communicate to a range of audiences, including clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to build consensus - as the work will involve many stakeholders.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $850001-$110000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
