RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Global Banking & Markets Operating Risk organization is responsible for the oversight of Operational Risk (across Sales, Trading, Banking, Engineering and Operations), Supervision, Conduct, Control Remediation, Technology Risk, Operational Risk, and Operational Resiliency for Global Banking & Markets Division.

The Sales & Trading Controls team addresses immediate risk management priorities in the supervisory risk space for Global Banking & Markets and works on developing new innovations in this field for its stakeholders. The focus of the team is supervisory related risks that arise from business activity, including both traditional business lines and electronic trading business lines.

The team partners closely with Sales & Trading Supervisors, Franchise Managers, Change Management, Controls Engineering, Product and Designers to ensure solutions are designed and implemented for the Global Banking & Markets Division.

Global Banking & Markets: Sales & Trading Controls Specialist

As a Sales & Trading Controls Specialist, you will play a crucial part in managing the supervisory framework for Global Banking & Markets Sales, Trading and Strats supervisors and ensure that they are equipped with the appropriate tools to carry out their supervisory obligations. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting and driving the governance for Electronic Trading globally, and contributing to the design and development of a cutting-edge supervisory platform for Global Banking & Markets from a product, architecture and data governance perspective.

The Sales & Trading Controls team is looking to hire individuals in both the Controls and Architect space:

As a Sales & Trading Controls Specialist / Electronic Trading Risk Manager you will develop an in-depth knowledge of the Supervision and Electronic Trading control frameworks and generate ideas to advance the control repository. You will participate in the design of new supervisory controls and the re-engineering of existing processes by collaborating with Business Supervisors, engineers, and traders, to help manage risks and ensure that our control framework is effective and fit for purpose.

As a platform Business Architect, you will design and enhance processes to provide our consumers with best-in-class tools and insightful metrics to supervise risk in their business. You will collaborate with the Product, Design, and Controls Engineering teams to develop, implement and deliver complex and strategic cross divisional initiatives. You will have a genuine interest in data and working with stakeholders on projects to develop strategies and solutions, related to data. Experience working with the business to develop functional requirements and translating those into technical requirements is a must.

Your Impact:

  • Oversee, design and continually drive projects optimizing tools supporting the supervision framework for the Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities businesses
  • Support and drive governance for Electronic Trading globally, and facilitate new business initiatives for committee approval
  • Inventing and designing automated processes to maintain and improve adherence to controls standards
  • Develop key metrics to measure effectiveness of the Supervisory and automated trading control frameworks
  • Designing and enhancing processes to provide consumers with best-in-class tools and insightful metrics to supervise risk for their business
  • Work with data consumers and producers to negotiate ownership of data
  • Execute the data governance framework, policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Partner with users and provide feedback on the strategic tooling to Controls Engineering for business use cases
  • Liaise with other divisions, such Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit as well as support regulatory interactions

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Understanding of risks and controls across Trading and Sales businesses
  • Understanding of revenue generative functions
  • Working knowledge of software driven risks
  • Sufficient knowledge and the ability to run queries and create detailed data analysis
  • Experience managing projects, and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of operational risk and a familiarity with operational risk frameworks a plus
  • Demonstrate effective analytical, critical thinking, be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in process redesign and executing strategic concepts from inception to implementation
  • Ability to prioritize and meet simultaneous competing demands and a passion for a drive to deliver
  • Interest in developments in the global financial regulatory environment, specific knowledge of automated trading related regulation and front office supervision frameworks a plus
