The mission of Controllers is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. As part of the firm's second line of defence, Controllers provides the critical analysis required while ensuring the internal and external financial information of the firm is accurate. Additionally, Controllers serves an important role in safeguarding the assets of the firm through the independent scrutiny of financial information. Controllers engages regularly with the firm's regulators and auditors and through its strong culture of control and challenge helps to protect the firm from reputational and other risks.

The Regulatory Reporting Controllers team in Frankfurt is responsible for ensuring that the regulatory and prudential requirements of our German entities are met, in accordance with statutory and firm regulations and standards. This includes the maintenance of adequate capital resources to meet their commitments and to withstand the risks to which the business is subject, e.g. Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk, and other risks as assessed in our ICAAPs. The team also provides the business with advice on German and European prudential regulations and plays a key role in new product and regulatory implementations.

Do you have strong analytical and communication skills and do you like work detail-oriented? We are looking for a professional to join our Controllers team in Frankfurt.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

As an Analyst in the Regulatory Reporting Team you will be involved in and/or have responsibility for:

  • Regulatory capital adequacy reporting for the Goldman Sachs entities in Germany
  • Calculating components of the regulatory capital position and large exposures for the German bank entity on a daily basis
  • Recovery and resolution reporting for the Goldman Sachs entities in Germany
  • ICAAP and Business Planning Framework for the Goldman Sachs entities in Germany
  • Addressing ad hoc requests in relation to regulatory aspects
  • Addressing desk requests for trade approvals and assessing impact to enable management decisions
  • Participation in global regulatory project work including system developments, implementation of new products and new regulatory framework

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Academic degree in business administration or finance
  • Preference of a minimum 1 years of professional experience in a regulatory environment, preferably in the financial industry in Germany or a SSM country
  • Business fluency in English, German language skills would be beneficial
  • Good knowledge of European/German regulatory rules
  • Attention to detail and time management are essential skills for this role. In addition, the candidate should have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Strong computing skills - comfortable with large data sets, preferably with an above-intermediate level of excel knowledge and experience with automation tools.
  • Strong communication - ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of people across the Firm at various levels of seniority
  • Self-motivated and proactive - Ability to run with issues, get involved hands-on, and provide constant high-quality feedback
  • Ability to maintain mutual support within a high energy, high profile team
