Controllers, Product Controllers, Analyst/Associate, Tokyo

Controllers ensure that the Firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution.

Controllers also ensure that the Firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.

Our Product Control Team reports key financial data including P&L, balance sheet and price verification. This team works closely with business leaders of the FICC and Equities businesses.

Product Controllers become experts in their business and assess valuation, profit and loss attribution, and disclosure implications of the business' positions and trades.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intelligently monitor trading activities to ensure the business is supported in a controlled manner.
  • Work effectively with the Business and other Federation teams, including Operations, Risk, Tax, Technology and Treasury.
  • Prepare daily P&L and other financial analysis for the firm.
  • Perform independent price verification on various types of financial instruments including structured and exotics products
  • Month-end procedures preparing accounts for posting to the firm's general ledger.
  • Work and drive innovation-related initiatives, including workflow automation and data analytics projects to improve functional effectiveness and efficiencies.

PREFERRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess strong interest in financial products and market awareness.
  • Qualified accountant preferred with prior experience in finance or audit but not a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong confident character, team player control mindset and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and integrity.
  • Proactive and willing to take on extra responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience in programming and technology will be advantageous.
