Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Research, model and write reports on commodity market dynamics and developments with particular focus on energy commodities and specialization in natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Build supply and demand balances using multiple data sources in various forms and data formats, seasonally and bias adjusting where appropriate. Establish quantitative and econometric supply and demand models. Develop deeper understanding of pricing framework for natural gas and LNG which may be empirical as well as theoretical. Convey analysis and market views to sales and trading desks, and clients (both commodity and portfolio allocation specialists and non-specialists). Gather data, perform analyses, and present reports using large data sets of economic and commodity, market, and company data. Initiate and execute original research from start to completion.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with: conducting economic research at a financial institution or higher education institution with a focus on analyzing and forecasting energy markets or macroeconomics using econometric models; providing market views, forecasts (including for energy prices, growth, or inflation), and investment strategies; researching, econometric model building, forecasting, and identifying causal and predictive economic relationships using big datasets; presenting investment ideas, macroeconomic views, and policy implications to investment professionals or economic policymakers including investment in commodities futures or commodities equity markets); coding in Python, and EViews; and using market data software including Bloomberg. License required: FINRA SIE, Series 63 and Series 7.

Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $173,555 - $200,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
