Our Global Alternatives Private Fund Services group is seeking a Senior Associate who will be at the hub of the day-to-day Alternatives Private end-to-end fund life cycle management, resulting in a dynamic role, which will allow the individual to interact with a wide range of internal and external teams and be involved in a diverse range of tasks and projects.

The Global Alternatives Private Fund Services group is a new team within our Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management business within Operations, responsible for the planning and execution of fund life cycle events of Asset Management Private Markets products. The Team interacts very closely with AWM Private Deal Teams, Sales and Capital Markets teams, and other numerous internal teams connected with setup, operation and oversight of the Funds, as well as with certain external service providers and with the Funds' Board of Directors (internal and external), where relevant.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Fund Events/Change Management Support: Liaising across internal business partners and external counterparties to launch and/or rationalize new pooled vehicles, facilitate fund lifecycle events and ensure the adequacy of account structures and surveillance for funds, including:
  • Coordinating launch of new funds/share classes
  • Coordinating mergers, closures, restructurings & other fund events
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of account structures
  • A wide range of ad-hoc fund related projects
  • Vendor Management Program: Working with the Central team to assist with the evaluation, selection, negotiation and onboarding of new vendors associated with the launch of new AM Alts Private products, where applicable.
  • Fund Governance:
  • Providing superior client service and front to back support for AM's pooled vehicle complex in a commercial and cost effective manner
  • Creating and driving strategic projects to improve efficiency and scalability while maintaining and managing risk
  • Involvement with production / review of Board Packs and other relevant materials
  • Preparation of management information reporting for internal management, working groups and committees

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with relevant industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with and cultivate effective relationships with professionals across various levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set own priorities and multi-task
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines, with activities and targets which may change at short notice
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an autonomous, yet collaborative environment
  • A high level of accuracy with the ability to maintain this standard while under pressure from deadlines
  • Commitment to excellence with a high level of integrity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fund experience is not required, but would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of fund products (i.e., private markets, alternative investment funds and registered products) and regulatory environments would be beneficial
