Overview:

The Senior Power BI Administrator provides advanced expertise on various projects and supports requests focused on administration, configuration, user support, and developer best practices training for business intelligence and analytics platforms with a specialization in Power BI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What makes you an ideal candidate?

  • Manage and monitor the Power BI platform to ensure a stable production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and implement Power BI system upgrades, security, auditing, and configuration
  • Provide capacity planning and performance tuning for the Power BI platform.
  • Install and manage data gateways and tenant settings.
  • Regularly maintain terminal and gateway servers and assess the impact of new Power BI releases.
  • Act as an escalation point for platform issues and liaison with Microsoft Technical Support.
  • Provide on-call support and direction for Power BI related issues.
  • Define and document best practices and standards for BI tools.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and service levels.
  • Act as a Power BI expert, providing training and technical direction.
  • Communicate production issue status with business and BI team.
  • Understand SDLC process and project management steps.
  • Have advanced knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security methodologies, and Power BI products.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in troubleshooting Power BI issues, report development, data modeling, SQL, and database design.
  • Ability to manage PowerShell scripts, develop metrics and KPIs, and manage multiple projects.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 5-7 years experience designing, developing, and administering Business Intelligence applications including maintenance and support activities, performance monitoring, tuning, upgrading versions, software configuration, business continuity and disaster recovery planning and general IT processes such as Change Management, Configuration Management, Problem Resolution, and Incident Tracking required
  • 5-7 years of experience with report development, data models and administration processes in an enterprise BI reporting tool required
  • 5-7 years of experience with database software (Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica, etc.) as well as relational and OLAP database designs required
  • Experience with report development, data modeling, and administration processes in Power BI preferred
  • Experience with Power BI administration performing system monitoring, log analysis, performance analysis, performance tuning and capacity planning
