RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Role:

The Sr Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for executing a portion of the GM Financial (GMF) Cybersecurity Program designed to advise the organization on its management of cybersecurity risk by organizing information, enabling risk management decisions and addressing threats to ensure the security of company systems and information assets. The Sr Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for contributing to the success of comprehensive security initiatives, working with internal and external groups to ensure the program is operating effectively and efficiently and for developing strong partnerships with business partners across the enterprise to ensure company information assets are protected at the appropriate level.

  • Track, monitor, and report on key cybersecurity initiatives, milestones, deliverables, resources, remediation items, and/or findings through completion.
  • Engage with GMF Cybersecurity teams to identify, prioritize, plan, and execute Cybersecurity initiatives and internal projects.
  • Initiate, facilitate and promote cybersecurity within the organization and monitor adherence to cybersecurity policies, standards and controls.
  • Collaborate with business partners to manage cybersecurity needs.
  • Prepare reporting for various aspects of the Cybersecurity program.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements in efficacy and efficiency to current Cybersecurity processes, people, and technology.
  • Ensure effective communication and partnership with all departments at GMF and serve as a liaison of Cybersecurity and first point of contact for Cybersecurity concerns.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge and pursue additional training or certifications to advance in the field.

  • Experience with audit management and tracking of remediation items and/or findings to completion.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand workloads and trends supporting key. initiatives to effectively delegate tasks to cybersecurity resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow a prioritization framework.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think positively when faced with obstacles, build on other's ideas, think logically and intuitively, and create new and innovative ideas and methods.

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.

  • Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong process development skills, including automation of workflows.
  • Demonstrated interest and passion for cybersecurity, with relevant education, certifications, or work experience.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in large and complex business environments with a successful track record working directly with senior level management required
  • At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following domains: Access Control, Telecom and Network Security, Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management, Software Development Security, Cryptography, Security Architecture and Design, Operational Security, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Legal Regulations, Investigations and Compliance, Physical (Environmental) Security, IT or Security Audit, IT or Security Compliance required
  • Information Security Certifications strongly preferred
