Are you a rising college sophomore or junior still figuring out your future career path? The Sophomore Leadership Internship Program is your chance to explore the professional world through job shadowing-a unique opportunity to observe industry professionals in action and discover what inspires you.
What This Program Is:
An 8-week immersive, paid job-shadowing experience in the automotive finance industry, designed to help you:
• Discover a variety of career paths
• Learn through observation and mentorship
• Build confidence in a professional setting
• Connect with peers and industry leaders
RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn about General Motors Financial and our various lines of business
What You Will Experience:
• Job Shadowing: Spend time alongside professionals in departments like Finance, Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Dealer Operations, and more.
• Mentorship: Receive guidance from experienced team members who are passionate about helping you grow.
• Leadership Development: Participate in workshops that build your confidence and leadership potential.
• Networking: Meet executives, peers, and professionals across the company.
• Diversity Equity & Inclusion: Learn about our commitment to DEI and how it shapes our workplace culture.
Location & Commitment:
• On-site in Fort Worth, Arlington, and Irving, TX
• Must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
• Reliable transportation required
• Full participation for all 8 weeks is mandatory (May 27- July 17, 2026)
QUALIFICATIONS
Who Should Apply:
• Rising sophomores or juniors (graduating Spring 2027-Spring 2028)
• Students enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university (HBCU or HSI preferred)
• Curious, engaged, motivated individuals who want to explore career options
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
• Effective communication skills and ability to engage and commune with fellow cohort members
• Leadership experience is a plus-but not required!
