RESPONSIBILITIES
About the role:
As a technical leader and subject matter expert in Generative and Agentic AI, the Leader will play a pivotal role in driving strategic alignment and delivering measurable business value through AI innovation. This individual will collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to partner in implementing high-impact AI initiatives that accelerate the organization's strategic objectives.
The Senior Principal is expected to be a dynamic, forward-thinking innovator who champions the adoption of advanced AI technologies and methodologies. Acting as a catalyst for transformation, this role will promote process optimization and automation to enhance productivity, scalability, and performance across the enterprise.
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Lead the execution of GMF's AI product strategy, aligning with enterprise priorities and delivering AI-powered solutions across servicing, originations, collections, and other GMF businesses across the organization
- Drive the deployment of Generative and Agentic AI capabilities, including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration, and other Agentic technologies
- Coordinate with the AI Strategy & Development Team to operationalize approved solution
- Translate advanced AI capabilities into intuitive workflows that enhance decision-making and customer experience
- Deep understanding of IT architectural patterns and enterprise systems in order to understand technological limitations and potential pitfalls
- Partner with Data Science, Digital/CX, IT, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact solutions
- Ensure alignment with GMF's enterprise architecture and governance frameworks
- Ensure all AI solutions comply with GMF's Acceptable Use Policy, privacy standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Legal, Cyber, and Privacy teams to define guardrails and monitor AI performance
- Capture success metrics as defined by the AI Implementation Team and monitor product performance through dashboards, A/B testing, and executive reporting
- Coordinate with analytics teams for real-time feedback loops
- Experience with leading cross-functional and/or global initiatives from start to finish
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, LLaMA) and working knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGPT, MCP)
- In-depth understanding of company values, mission, vision and strategic direction
- Understanding of IT architectural patterns, system integration, and enterprise technology stacks
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and best practices for secure and scalable API design
- Awareness of data flow, security, and compliance considerations in system implementations
- Advanced relationship management skills and ability to influence others to achieve results by working across the business unit, being open to ideas and actively engaging and influencing others
- Proven ability to build and launch products in partnership with technical (Data Science, IT) and non-technical (Compliance, Legal, CX) stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management
- Ability to synthesize feedback from technical teams, executive sponsors, and third-parties as needed
- Ability to maintain and grow strong working relationships and build trust with peers, cross-functional partners and related professional organizations
- Demonstrated ability to make smart decisions with a strong sense of urgency to accelerate continuous progression
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environments. Experience managing concurrent initiatives and agile workstreams is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Master's degree in in relevant field of study or additional years of relevant experience
- 12+ years in AI/ML experience
- 5-7 years leading through mentorship in related field
- 5-7 driving thought leadership and innovation across products
