About the role

The Manager, Corporate Communications is a hands-on, get-it-done type responsible for developing and executing internal and external communications supporting GM Financial's corporate events and community giving objectives. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communications, this role collaborates across departments and with external partners to ensure consistent messaging, employee engagement, and brand alignment. This includes helping to plan, promote, and execute programs that reflect GM Financial's values and enhance its reputation through strategic storytelling, content development and logistical coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Manage event calendars and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of functions and communications.
  • Assist in planning and executing corporate events and community engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Develops and executes strategic plan for marketing materials related to event coordination and planning, video production, and all sales and executive related presentations.
  • Acts as primary point of contact for and coordinates interaction with company stakeholders to define and deliver event strategy, plan and execution for employees and event participants.
  • Interface with Brand and Marketing teams to deliver coordinated and consistent experiences across channels and campaigns.
  • Ensure all communications align with GM Financial's brand voice and tone.
  • Support crisis communication efforts and issue management as needed.
  • Draft and edit communications materials such as announcements, press releases, and organizational updates.
  • Support executive communications, including drafting talking points, presentations, and messages.
  • Develop and deliver compelling content for internal communications channels, including intranet, newsletters, digital signage, and video.
  • Monitor and respond to media inquiries in coordination with AVP and VP-level leaders.
  • Track communication metrics and provide insights to improve effectiveness.
  • Develops and executes strategic plan for marketing materials related to event coordination and planning, video production, and all sales and executive related presentations.
  • Acts as primary point of contact and coordinates interaction with all company stakeholders to define and deliver event strategy, plan and execution for employees and event participants.
  • Working in conjunction with the video production team.
  • Partners with creative teams, video teams, and communications to deliver and execute.
  • Interface with brand and marketing to deliver coordinated and consistent experiences across channels and campaigns.

  • Knowledge of how to communicate with diverse audiences: employees, executives, customers, investors, and the public.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives, speeches, reports, and executive communications.
  • Ability to align communication initiatives with organizational goals and anticipate future needs.
  • Skilled in managing multiple campaigns, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring communication professionals and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to measure communication effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute corporate events, including logistics, content development, and promotional communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
  • Skilled in managing multiple campaigns, timelines, and cross-functional teams.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field required.
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or related field required.
  • 5+ years experience in event planning required
  • Experience in financial services, automotive, or regulated industries preferred.
