The GM Financial Corporate Treasury - Capital Markets team maintains reliable and ready access to funding to support the company's short-term and long-term capital needs for U.S. and Canada operations. This includes raising capital to support the retail loans, leases, dealer floorplans, and commercial vehicle assets originated by GM Financial through its extensive dealer network. The team arranges lines of credit, accesses capital markets through asset backed securitizations and unsecured transactions, invests excess liquidity, and manages counterparty risk. In this role, you'll not only get to partner with a broad group of GMF team members but also with an extensive external network (lawyers, bankers, auditors, Etc.) to achieve funding objectives.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Capital Markets Sr Analyst is responsible for assisting senior management in developing, coordinating, implementing and executing short and long-term funding solutions for auto finance products that the company originates (i.e. loan, lease and Floorplan). Capital markets transactions may include senior notes, commercial paper, retail term notes, demand notes and other funding platforms. This team member will be responsible for strategically managing the commercial paper program, including daily trading and platform management, as well as providing overall support to management.

Shift: Monday-Friday 5:00 am/6:00 am - 3:00 pm/3:30 pm to be available for market hours

In this role you will:

  • Organize and execute required functions for the commercial paper program.
  • Assess economic, market, and internal conditions to determine appropriate issuance strategy and continued program management.
  • Interact with both internal and external constituents.
  • Monitor and maintain internal controls, policies and processes related to capital market transactions.
  • Assist senior management in developing and maintaining productive relationships with external parties including banks, brokers, trustees, rating agencies, and investors.
  • Develop ad-hoc analysis and reporting as directed by management.
  • Assist with developing company presentations for internal, bank, rating agency and investor meetings.
  • Must keep abreast of current market trends and all areas related to current responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of capital markets, credit facilities, financial analysis and treasury functions
  • Comprehension of financial and cashflow models
  • Knowledge of operational settlement procedures for securities
  • Ability to understand macro, economic and credit trends as it pertains to capital markets
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior management and external constituents
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make observations and recommendations based on analysis
  • Possess excellent quantitative analysis skills; financial modeling skills preferred
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, detail orientation and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills are required including advanced MS Excel and some experience with Bloomberg is preferred

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
  • 3-5 years corporate finance, treasury or related field required
  • Auto/Captive finance company experience preferred
