The AVP of Investment Analysis will lead a team that is at the forefront of driving strategic priorities for GM Financial. You will direct the group responsible for investment analysis, benefit realization, and reporting key metrics to the Executive Leadership team. Through effective collaboration with business owners and project teams throughout the organization, the AVP ensures the preparation and delivery of comprehensive business cases that enable executive leadership to make well-informed investment choices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

About the role

The AVP Project Investment Analysis will lead the team within the EPMO (Enterprise Project Management Office) that supports our Executive's ability to make informed investment decisions based on new and ongoing project investment analysis and benefit realization.

This individual will direct the team responsible for conducting investment analysis and benefit realization and reporting key metrics to the Executive team. The team will support business owners and other EPMO staff with the refinement of the project business case in support of making sound investment decisions. The AVP should exhibit the executive presence needed to lead these interactions and will promote team member integrity and ethical compliance, building upon our established culture.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the VP of Investment Analysis with addressing project financial questions, issues, concerns and representing Investment Analysis in key meetings.
  • Responsible for continually improving the capabilities of PMO staff, executives and business owners involved in making investment proposals and decisions
  • Audit financial models based on project business cases, including cost/benefits estimates, NPV and IRR on highly complex and large-scale projects
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of GPPM financial process training for the enterprise
  • Foster trusted financial business partner relationships with the project management community to bridge the gap between operational and financial processes, enabling project teams to achieve their financial objectives
  • Support adoption of financial concepts and processes in alignment with industry best practices across the enterprise and ensure adherence to Global Project Portfolio Management (GPPM) financial process standards
  • Foster and champion, an environment that promotes trust, self-development, continuous improvement, innovation, and quality outcomes
  • Coach team members to maintain a consistent level of quality, accuracy, compliance with enterprise project management standards, state and federal regulations, and internal controls


QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you a dream candidate?

  • Advanced knowledge of financial models and tools such as ROI, NPV, IRR, Benefit Cost Ratio etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of project costing
  • Proficient in process improvement and development practices
  • Working knowledge of Corporate Finance and Accounting principles
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others, and collaborate with other leaders in the organization
  • Provide leadership and guidance to analyst
  • Problem solving, multi-tasking and decision making abilities; detail oriented
  • Mature leadership skills and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Skilled at producing executive-level reports and/or training material using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to plan, execute and improve work processes to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • Proactively achieves goals and objectives and applies critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor the message based on the audience
  • Advanced organization ability and experience navigating competing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity while successfully managing work demands and pressure; continually pursues personal development

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent related work experience required
    • 7+ years of experience in related discipline, project management and/or project investment analysis experience strongly required
    • 4+ years of experience leading, coaching, directing, and mentoring team members preferred

Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus eligibility; this role is eligible for company vehicle program
